France Close-Up
On Exhibit at Java Divine – August 2010
Opening Reception Friday, August 13, 6 - 8 PM

"France Close-Up” is a collection of photographs by Fuquay-Varina resident Susan Barnard. They were taken during trips she made to France in 2009 and 1992 with her husband, Thomas Hines. The images are of faces, scenes, structures and curiosities observed in Paris (Ile de France) and the regions of Normandy, Provence and the Languedoc. Specific locations include the city of Toulouse, towns of Giverney, Albi, and Auvillars, and small villages.
Susan is a retired academic librarian (North Carolina State and Kent State Universities) and amateur photographer whose grandmother was French. Tom is a retired professor of Comparative Literature, and author of books and articles on European philosophy, literature and art. Both love France - its people, language, landscapes, culture, food, and the enduring ideals of “Liberte, Egalite and Fraternite.”

Plus Matt and Beth Wish, acoustic guitar duo will play from 7:30 – 9:30 pm on the patio.
