"Art after Dark" is back with a bang on October 14th

 "Art after Dark," our regular 2nd Friday art walk in Fuquay-Varina, is coming soon, with lots of new and exciting events for our October 14th Art Walk, including a Silent Auction, a Book Launch and Reading from local writers and poets, live music, lots of local artwork on display, a children's performer, a drumming and hooping circle, an artist market, some crafts for the kids, jewelry making, a makeup artist, and plenty more to see and do. Fuquay Varina Art after Dark gets new life on Sept 9th with "Fall for the Arts"

Join us on September 9th from 6-9pm in Fuquay Varina for "Fall for the Arts," the kickoff to a new and much improved season of "Art after Dark" in Fuquay Varina.  This event is shaping up to be quite an exciting event. With over 25 businesses participating in the downtown area, as well as a few others throughout town, there will be something for everyone, including live music, art shows and featured artists, a drum circle, artist and crafters market, a "paint-in," a creativity contest, the grand opening of an artist co-op, & much more. Holly Springs High School Art Exhibit at Java Divine - Reception on the 2nd Friday

Java Divine Italian Café in Holly Springs will display the work of Holly Springs High School’s advanced visual arts students through the month of March. The show will include the art work of:
Andy Gonzalez, Glenna Nielson, Lacy Burke, Nam Thai, Lauren Dunn, Megan Deutsch, Kelsey Kampf, Kris Beal, Jasmin Rodriguez, Chris Ponder, Alex Williams, Noemi Mira, Luz Lira, Allison Greene, John Demcovici, Lilia Signoretti, Lexi Young, Cailin Buchman, Andrea Perugini, Chantae Shor, Sheridan Keeler, Melanie Beckner

Most of whom are members of the high school’s brand new chapter of the National Art Honor Society under Advisor and Visual Art teachers Patrick Hitesman and Sharon Lapp. March’s display will begin with a free reception open to the public on Friday, March 11th from 7 to 8 pm. Those not able to attend may view the art work at Java Divine through the end of the month.

Rocky (Roxanna) Alexander entertains a group of art enthusiasts with her neet artists tricks and techniques during the Feb. Art After Dark event. She is scheduled to be back on the evening of March 11, 2011.

March 11, 2011 Art After Dark 2nd Friday from 6:pm to 8:pm Join the Paint-Out Paint-In. During most Paint-Outs at Ashley's, the Art Loopers just watch the artists paint outside. However this time, we are moving it inside and we will have an art studio set up so that attendees can paint. Rocky Alexander, a gifted artist and art instructor will be on hand to help out and to give some tips. No experience necessary and there is no charge. If you do not want to paint then you can watch the 4 local artists demonstrate their talent.

Betty Ann Packler, born in Winston-Salem and graduated from UNC Greensboro with a BFA in art, moved to Miami, Florida for 10 years before returning to North Carolina in 2006. She now lives in Holly Springs.
While living in Miami, she attained the honor of becoming a Signature Member of the Miami Watercolor Society. She showed her work in juried shows from Naples to Fort Lauderdale while completing her teaching career.
Since moving back to North Carolina she has been accepted into the North Carolina Watercolor state show twice and was selected for this traveling show. She won the NC Wine Merchants poster competition the in 2007 and was selected as Featured Artist at Cary's Spring Daze Festival in 2010.
She has won local awards while exhibiting through Fine Arts League of Cary, Visual Arts Exchange in Raleigh, Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex, the Nature of Art in Holly Springs, and senior exhibits in Cary.

She is a member of the Cary Gallery of Artists and exhibits there throughout the year.

She has donated her work to pet rescue groups as well as fund raising events in Cary, Holly Springs, and Raleigh. She volunteers at the NC Museum of Art as well as with other local organizations. She also created the logo for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard as her contribution to this worthy local effort.

She creates pet portraits in pastel on commission.
