Betty Ann Packler, born in Winston-Salem and graduated from UNC Greensboro with a BFA in art, moved to Miami, Florida for 10 years before returning to North Carolina in 2006. She now lives in Holly Springs.
While living in Miami, she attained the honor of becoming a Signature Member of the Miami Watercolor Society. She showed her work in juried shows from Naples to Fort Lauderdale while completing her teaching career.
Since moving back to North Carolina she has been accepted into the North Carolina Watercolor state show twice and was selected for this traveling show. She won the NC Wine Merchants poster competition the in 2007 and was selected as Featured Artist at Cary's Spring Daze Festival in 2010.
She has won local awards while exhibiting through Fine Arts League of Cary, Visual Arts Exchange in Raleigh, Halle Cultural Arts Center in Apex, the Nature of Art in Holly Springs, and senior exhibits in Cary.
She is a member of the Cary Gallery of Artists and exhibits there throughout the year.
She has donated her work to pet rescue groups as well as fund raising events in Cary, Holly Springs, and Raleigh. She volunteers at the NC Museum of Art as well as with other local organizations. She also created the logo for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard as her contribution to this worthy local effort.
She creates pet portraits in pastel on commission.
